Old-timers under pressure - ammonia system made fit for the future according to current standards
cold.world Engineering was commissioned with the detailed recording and evaluation of an ammonia refrigeration system from 1973 for a municipal property. The aim was to be able to continue operating the system in compliance with current regulations – particularly with regard to the requirements of TRAS 110 and DIN 378.
The work focused on:
- the complete recording of all system components including pipelines, tanks and secondary circuits,
- the creation of R+I diagrams, an emergency shutdown plan and a site plan,
- the preparation of a pressure vessel directory and an explosion protection document.
- Signage in accordance with current standards
In consultation with the responsible expert, measures were defined to adapt the system in accordance with standards – including the design of the emergency stop systems and the monitoring of filling quantities in accordance with Section 29a BImSchG.
With this project, cold.world Engineering is making a contribution to the continued use of existing technology under the conditions of today’s safety and environmental standards.
