Subsidies for refrigeration technology: the state pays too
Energy efficiency is expensive? Not necessarily. Anyone investing in sustainable refrigeration technology and heat pumps today benefits from attractive government subsidies. The use of natural refrigerants in particular is massively promoted by programs such as the Federal Funding for Energy and Resource Efficiency in the Economy (EEW). cold.world ENGINEERING plans your system so that it is not only technically perfect, but also optimally meets the funding criteria.
Why natural refrigerants make the difference
The funding landscape in Germany (BAFA / KfW) has a clear goal: away from F-gases and towards natural solutions. For you, this means that systems with ammonia (NH3), CO2 (R744) or propane (R290) often receive significantly higher funding quotas than conventional systems.
- Up to 50 % subsidy: Depending on the size of the company and the program, up to 50% of the eligible investment costs can be reimbursed by the state.
- Faster amortization: The subsidy often reduces your ROI (return on investment) to just a few years.
What is supported?
We keep track of the funding jungle. Typical eligible measures in our projects are
1. new construction & replacement investments (BAFA Module 4) The construction of new, highly efficient refrigeration systems or the replacement of old systems with systems using natural refrigerants. The prerequisite is usually a certain CO2 or energy saving potential, which we can prove by calculation.
2. industrial heat pumps The use of waste heat or environmental heat to provide process heat is being promoted extremely strongly, as it is a direct substitute for natural gas.
3. components & optimization (retrofit) Individual measures on existing systems can also be funded, e.g:
- Retrofitting of frequency inverters (FI).
- Installation of heat recovery systems.
- Optimization of measurement and control technology (MSR).
- Insulation of pipes and fittings (cold and heat insulation).
The most important rule: application before order!
A mistake that costs money: Subsidies must be applied for (and often approved) before you place an order. As soon as you sign a supply contract or order a component, the entitlement to funding is usually forfeited.
Our service for your application: We won’t leave you alone with the paperwork.
Potential analysis: We check in the first draft whether your project is eligible for funding.
Calculation: We draw up the necessary energy-saving concepts (savings concept according to module 4), which are required for the application to BAFA.
Partner network: For the formal application process, we work with specialized energy consultants who take care of communication with the authorities.
